چکیده

The concept of a hydraulic axis plays a central role within the design and analysis of hydraulic systems. A hydraulic axis comprises working, control, and supply elements that realize a subfunction of a hydraulic system. Analyzing a system’s functional structure means to identify the hydraulic axes along with their couplings. The paper in hand addresses this problem; it presents concepts and algorithms that tackle a sophisticated analysis task: the automatic identification of hydraulic axes and their related coupling types. Aside from the theoretical elaboration of the analysis problem, a large part of the described concepts has been operationalized. The algorithms were evaluated with an extensive circuit library, and more than 95% of the hydraulic axes in these circuits have been identified correctly.

Particle Swarm Optimization for Hydraulic Analysis of Water Distribution Systems

The analysis of flow in water-distribution networks with several pumps by the Content Model may be turned into a non-convex optimization uncertain problem with multiple solutions. Newton-based methods such as GGA are not able to capture a global optimum in these situations. On the other hand, evolutionary methods designed to use the population of individuals may find a global solution even for ...

Topological clustering for water distribution systems analysis

Municipal water distribution systems may consist of thousands to tens of thousands of hydraulic components such as pipelines, valves, tanks, hydrants, and pumping units. With the capabilities of today’s computers and database management software, “all pipe” hydraulic simulation models can be easily constructed. However, the uncertainty and complexity of water distribution systems interrelations...

Analysis of Inner Surface Roughness Parameters of Load-carrying and Support Elements of Mechanical Systems (RESEARCH NOTE)

Physical and mechanical regularities in the effect of certain processing operations on the shape and roughness of the hydraulic cylinder surface are found. The mechanisms of the spatial self-organization of the relief and surface of bearings under conditions of false brinelling are summarized and analyzed. The data obtained can be used for further scientific generalization or prediction and dia...

Entropy operator for continuous dynamical systems of finite topological entropy

In this paper we introduce the concept of entropy operator for continuous systems of finite topological entropy. It is shown that it generates the Kolmogorov entropy as a special case. If $phi$ is invertible then the entropy operator is bounded with the topological entropy of $phi$ as its norm.
